Goiter Treatment

What Can Be Done for Goiter Treatment?
Goiter treatment can vary due to how the goiter started to form in the first place. These can be from hypothyroidism (an under active thyroid) or Hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid) If you do NOT have enough iodine in your daily diet, then a goiter can form, thus needing proper goiter treatment. The goiter treatment will be to add more iodine, such as eating sea vegetables. Sea vegetables have a large amount of iodine in them that are necessary for goiter treatment. This does NOT mean that you are safe since you are eating more iodine! If you eat to much iodine you can still get a goiter and have hyperthyroidism! (over active thyroid) The minimal amount of daily iodine is around 156 micrograms per day to prevent a goiter from happening and needing goiter treatment. This can range from 3 glasses of organic milk, to eating a small serving of sea vegetables! Remember, sea vegetables like kelp have very high amounts of iodine in them. Only a smaller portion is needed. This can just literally be a few bites to help with your goiter treatment! Sea food food such as 3 ounces of Cod can have as much as 100 micrograms of iodine.
Dairy in general will have enough iodine in them for goiter treatment. The amounts of iodine for effective goiter treatment will greatly depend on how the cow or chicken ate during their life span. Organic eggs or milk will generally enough iodine. The amount of iodine in a 4oz glass of milk (grass fed) will have 28.06 micrograms. One full egg will have 27.00 micrograms. Remember, around 156 micrograms minimum is required if you DON'T need goiter treatment. It's quite alright to go over this amount. You just don't want to ever go over the 1,100 micrograms of iodine per day with any goiter treatment! If you have a goiter, you will need to have more than the daily minimum but NOT more than the daily maximum.

This is such a great post! This can happen to both men and women! I know that women generally have more thyroid issues than men but it's nice to know some numbers of what we all need to do daily to prevent a goiter from happening.
